That’s why we wear hats

Used to express disgust, annoyance or unhappiness with the current economic state. Usually referring to inflation. Why we wear hats is supposed to suggest being defecated on by a flock of birds from above. Metaphorically speaking the economy is being likened to a flock of birds flying overhead.
