Word Vomit

Word vomit. It's mostly known from the 2004 movie, Mean Girls. It means that you say something without thinking about it, and most times, it's the truth, but sometimes, it's a lie, so that you can get what you want.

Vomiting Commas

The practice of using commas and other punctuation marks incorrectly. The writer is usually aware that a comma is needed in the sentence they're writing, but is unclear as to when and where it should be placed. The amount of commas then used is so absurd that it would appear they had figuratively 'vomited' commas all over the piece they have written.

'Michelle, did you, want to go to, the park, and have a picnic, and maybe, let me, play with, your boobs, for a bit.'

'Mark, you're vomiting commas again. You're not getting anywhere near my tits until you stop being a fuckwit and learn some basic grammar'

Vomit comet

In Chicagoland, the nickname for the South Shore Line commuter rail service between South Bend, Indiana and Chicago. The name comes from the orange livery, which some consider ugly.

I'll be late, the vomit comet broke down again.

My sheltered roommate at Notre Dame thought I was suicidal taking the vomit comet to visit my parents in Chicago because his family only ever watched Fox News.

Yarn Vomit

Yarn vomit, also called yarn barf, is a term used in various yarn craft online spaces. It often refers to when someone attempts to pull just the center strand of a yarn skein, and in the process pulls out a large chunk of messy yarn. It can also be used in reference to any highly messy and tangled length of yarn.

"I was excited to use this yarn, but it's just become such an unworkable pile of yarn vomit. I don't think I could untangle it with a month of work."
