Premature Salutation

Greeting another individual while walking towards each other, but doing so when there is still an abundant amount of walking space to be covered before passing each other. This untimely greet is usually very awkward, but can be saved by a brief conversation concerning issues such as weather, sports, or work.

Josh- I ran into a co-worker today downtown, but it was extremely awkward, because I said hello 20 feet away from him.

Colton- Oh, do you mean you became a victim of Premature Salutation?

premature clapulation

When you go to a concert and think a song is finished. You start to clap and realize the song is not done, just a momentary break. This is a premature clapulation.

At the Neil Young concert, there was a momentary silence in the middle of a song. Everyone started to clap and then the song continued. This was a premature clapulation.

When someone makes hasty decisions or assessments based on limited data, before more data will show that those assessments are completely flawed.

The way trump has handled C19 is just one premature evaluation to another: from saying everything was under control, to it going away by Easter, to how he promoted hydroxychloriquine, to how the economy was going to see a "V" shaped recovery, and on and on.

The act of getting drunk too soon before a scheduled drinking event, often caused by excitement for that event.

Pumped for the game tomorrow, they stayed up late and broke into the tailgate booze. Their premature inebriation left them too hung over to cheer the next day.
