Us "Metal Heads" received our name by our music, lifestyles, and fashion trends. Fashion trends can range depending on what type of Metal Head you are. Tight jeans, leather jackets, and curly hair were inspired by Thrash Bands in the 80's such as Slayer, Metallica, Anthrax, and Megadeth. Death Metal fashion trends are alike in some ways. Tight jeans and sometimes leather jackets are worn, though hair styles usually differ. Hair styles for the Death Metal fan incude long greasy dark hair, sometimes straightened. (ex. Glen Benton, George Fisher) This look was inspired by bands like Death, Obituary, Morbid Angel, and Cannibal Corpse. Black Metal is far from the dressing style of Death and Thrash Metal. Black Metal (sometimes known as Viking Metal) clothing includes tight leather armor with spikes. Hair is usually dyed black and straightened. Dedicated fans or bands cover their faces with "Corpse Paint." This style is influenced by Mayhem, Bathory, and Emporer. The last type is not even considered to Metal to hardcore fans. This genre is called "Nu Metal". The clothing trends used by the Nu Metal fan are Emo. These people are known as posers.
The Metal Head has an interesting personality as well. They are quiet and friendly, but when angered, are the most dangerous people. Their anger, frustration, unreleased rage, and adrenaline rush create a deadly combination of power and is a force not to be reckoned with. Some of them are sometimes influenced by their favorite bands' lyrical content in fights. (ex. Cannibal Corpse, Obituary) This is what really makes them dangerous.
This is a dedication to all you other Metal Heads out there. Keep supporting Death, Black and Thrash.

Get the Metal Head mug.A misspelling of 'metalhead', usually made by unemployed weed-smoking losers who listen to 'classic rock' (whatever that is) and got beaten up by metalheads in high school.
I hate metal-heads! They always sucker punch me in the throat when I'm trying to listen to Ted Nugent!

Get the metal-head mug.someone who loves at least the old original metal bands such as black sabbath, judas priest, metallica, ac/dc, and other bands of that nature if you listen to only newer bands such as mudvayne, slipknot, cradle of filth, and other bands of that nature u are not a real metal head to be a real metal head you have to at least like the old original metal bands a metal head has no specific clothing style and no specific hair style long hair is just a common thing among metal heads and was adopted from the "hippies" which were categorized for liking bands such as the doors, led zeppelin, deep purple, jimi hendrix all helped metal evolve as well
real metal head: I fucking love black sabbath and i respect all the original metal bands.
fake metal head: Cradle of Filth is the best band ever, metal in the 70s and 80s was horrible.
If you listen to metal bands coming out today but do not listen to or at least respect the bands that led up to their music then you are not a real metal head and should stop saying you are before you end up getting your ass beat by a real metal head.

Get the metal head mug.A metal head is typically a person who listens to metal. None of that pussy ass nu-metal i.e PTV, BVB, BOTDF, SWS, WCAR, etc.
The term revolves around people who mainly listen to thrash metal, black metal, doom metal, Viking/folk metal, death metal, melodic death metal, glam metal, sludge metal, stoner metal, heavy metal, classic metal, and other genres relating to those.
There are many different clothing styles that metal heads typically have, but generally you can base them all around two main ones. (Not 100% accurate, but you get the idea.)
1.) Band t-shirts, dark jeans, leather jackets, spikes, wristbands.
2.) Khakis/jeans, band t-shirts occasionally, casual apparel that their peers wear.
Now, there are two types of metal-heads.
1.) The elitist jerks that'll ridicule you if you don't listen to death metal or anything extremely hardcore. They're generally really close-minded and judgmental and are an asshole to almost everyone.
2.) The kind of guy that doesn't flaunt it around and realizes that music is music and that people enjoy different types of music and are aight with that.

George: Man, that guy is such a faggot. Listening to only doom metal? What a fucking casual.
Jimmy: Dude, stop being such an asshole. Let people enjoy what they like. A Metal Head isn't supposed to be a huge douchebag.
