Gear Aquisition Syndrome

Also known as G.A.S.

This condition afflicts musicians and singers of all kinds, but seems to be especially virulent in electric guitar players. It is typified by an uncontrollable urge to buy, beg, borrow or steal the latest piece of musical equipment seen in a store, in a magazine, on TV or on another musician.
Poverty is the only known prevention (and only known cure) for the disease.

G.A.S. is the most likely explanation for any musician who possesses more than the required number of his/her chosen instrument (ie more than 1), but is more usually seen in the miriad unnecessary musical accessories hidden around the victim's room - such as amplifiers, electronic tuners, fold-back speakers, amp stands, gigantic speaker and PA stacks, guitar polish, guitar polishing cloths, several grades of strings, multiple gig bags full of things which buzz, click or glow in the dark, and, and, and....

Metal Gear Rising

A Metal Gear game loved by some fans but not all, mostly due to the game not surrounding Snake, but surrounding a badass cyborg samurai dude with white hair who somehow stops time to slice you into tiny bits while very loud and good music plays in your ears.

Person 1: "Metal Gear Rising sucks. It's a complete change and the protagonist is not even that cool."

Person 2: "Okay, but can you beat the games OST?"

Person 1: "Fuck."

grinding gear - noun
Pronunciation: (grind-ing gear)

Clothes women wear when they go out to the club or a party. Can usually be found at your local "Forever 21" store. Can sometimes can be mistaken as a synonym for "slutty attire". Makes most men lose their mind when they see a woman wearing one. Can also usually lead a man to buying a girl a drink at a club. Typically, women who wear it end up grinding some dude on the dancefloor in the club, hence the term.

"Hey girl! You can make a grown man cry with that grinding gear you got on. Let me buy you a drink!"

"Check out that chick by the bar. DAAAAMMMN! That grinding gear is complementing everything her momma gave her!"

"Girl, we going clubbin' tonight! Put on your best grinding gear and get ready to party!"
