It could be the flesh of a cow, bull, or ox, used as food. Or it could be flesh or muscle, typically when well developed. And last but not least, beef could mean like a hatred between two ppl, groups or communities. It could also mean to complain. That is verb form.
That man needs more beef on his bones.(Noun)
