Yuri is a name used in both Japan and the Russian federation. In Japanese, the name translates to "Lily". Though I do not have the Russian translation of Yuri. The name can be used for both males and females alike.

Yuri is also a type of anime focused on transgender characters and same-sex interaction though this one has more not safe for work content due to the nature of its characters and plot. Yuri anime is predominantly focused on female transgenderism and there are a few ones that focus on male transgenderism.
