To protect said traitors and guarantee the prosperity of their long term partnership with local snitches, they would cover their faces with a bag of t'hin (flour) before they give their testimonies. From then Tunisian started calling any person engagin in T'hin (treacherous or traitorous behavior) a tahan. The plural is "Tahana".
