40 Acres and a mule

Used as a response to a promise that will obviously not be kept. After the Civil War, the U.S. government promised freed slaves “40 acres and a mule” as part of land redistribution plans under General William T. Sherman’s Special Field Order No. 15.
"Didn't you hear? They're going to forgive everyone's student loan debt"
"Yeah, 40 acres and a mule too".
