Photo-op feminism is a brand (off-brand?) of the real thing where a poser will do or say anything (especially in front of a television camera) to get herself (okay, sometimes even men do it too) seen or heard as a hero to women everywhere. The more unreal the claim, the more outrageous the behavior.

When Sarah Palin winks at the camera she's teaching us all we need to know about photo-op feminism.

grow op

Suburban house that is actually a concealed indoor marijuana plantation. Grow-ops are usually loaded with high intensity lights for the crop, and often have illegally bypassed electrical meters, both to reduce costs and to prevent their detection by electrical consumption. They are often detected because of their heat -- either via infra-red thermography, or in colder climates, because snow melts on the roof faster than on other houses in the neighborhood. Some larger scale grow ops are installed in larger industrial buildings, rather than in residential areas.

New Day Co-op

A cooperative movement started by Stringer Bell and Proposition Joe in HBO's The Wire. The New Day Co-op is a loose coalition of drug dealers in Baltimore, MD, who share profits, protection, product, and turf. Stringer and Prop Joe realized that if the gangs stop killing each other over corners and drugs, there will be more money to go around for everyone with less bodies dropping, and thus less police attention.

The New Day Co-op gets the pure stuff from the Greek.
