Get the board speakmug. A method to make oneself aware of certain things one was not aware of until one began speaking to oneself or others (and preferably recorded what one said) about something (to be able to analyze it).
Speaking extemporaneously to myself and audio-recording it has helped me realize certain things I was not aware of until I said them. That process is called "speaking to discover".
