Yes, there is a band, Minor Threat, (my most favorite band of all time)(trust me, i know alot about these guys), and they had a song called "straight edge". However, the motion of this whole straight edge skeet is based on the song "out of step" by minor threat:

Being straight-edge is not following a set of rules, it is following an ideal. People who are straight-edge are not against drinking, they are against drinking excessively; alcohol is not poisonous in small quantities, nor do such small quantities alter your state of mind. The whole principle behind sXe, as it is referred to, is purity/clarity of body and mind.
