The Hunger Games

A book series written by Suzanne Collins. It completely rips off of "Battle Royale", a book by Japanese author Koushun Takami that was written over a decade before The Hunger Games. There were also two film adaptations of Battle Royale and a spin-off manga. Both books involve teenagers being forced to kill each other by the government.

The Hunger Games is very poorly written. Its biggest mistake is that it is written in 1st person, so one knows exactly how it ends the second one starts to read it. Suzanne Collins avoids showing the violence that takes place in her novel, usually implying deaths rather than showing them. This is because her target audience is teenage girls.

The protagonist, Katniss, is very unintelligent and has the same problem as all other female protagonists in modern teen fiction- she is in love with two guys and the main focus of the book is which one she chooses. This is the most important thing in the book- it doesn't matter that people are trying to kill Katniss, or that she lives in a world ruled by an oppressive government, or that her family is poor or that a rebellion is being started- the only thing important to her is choosing between these two guys. Everything else takes the back seat.

Essentially, The Hunger Games fails in every area that Battle Royal succeeds.
Teenage girl: OMG have u read The Hunger Games???/?? itz the best book EVR <33333

Me: Yes, and I found it to be very poorly written. It was a blatant rip-off of Battle Royale and the main character was quite stupid, as she was more concerned with finding a boyfriend than she was with saving her own life.

Teenage girl: no ur wrong itz amazinggggg!!1!!11! #Team Peeta <3

Me: This world is hopeless.

Hunger Games

A movie that owes all its success to Twilight Saga and Harry Potter. Heavily promoted and named "the next big thing". Will never be a Worldwide Phenomenon like the other two franchises because only popular in the United States, flopped internationally. Its about starving children who kill each other to win food for their district. Basically Kony 2012 in movie form. Promotes violence. The casting for the movie is all wrong and no one actually looks like they are starving. Also a rip-off of Battle Royale.

Hunger Games

A somewhat twilight-ish book.

A. Love triangle. Wow.

B. Two hotties fighting over one plain girl. How original.

C. Girl can't make up her mind over the 2 guys. No way!? Oh, did i mention the guys don't mind her indecision?

D. Girl thrashes around in her sleep like a maniac. Gosh.

E. All the gooey, cheesy remarks from Ms. Katniss Everdeen about Peeta and Gale. Get over it.

Anyways, other than those mentioned above, it's pretty entertaining with all the blood, gore, killing, and above all, the twists and turns. Thumbs up to the twists.
Fangirl 1: oh my gosh, i cant wait to see hunger games. Team Peeta.

Fangirl 2: Oh nooo. Team Gale yoh.

Me: shut the hell up.

Hunger Games

A trite, unrealistic, derivative series of books that are designed to cater to the brainwashed, star-struck teenage girl fans of the Twilight series, The world is being taken over by the aformented demographic. And although there are still resistance groups hidden in the depths of the internets, the physical world has been taken over. SHIT, HERE COMES THE TWILIGHT GESTAPO, GOTTA RUN GUYS.

The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games, a game for when two players fight to go as far as they can to get with a girl at a social event such as a party or kickback. There are only 2 rules to playing and winnin, With also many acceptions.

1) There must only be 2 players and 1 prize(that being the girl) For if more players were to join there would be too much competition and ruin the game and make the girl feel smother. Also there must be a penalty fouler (that being an unattractive girl who would bring someone down a level.) If The penalty fouler hits on or does any type of action with a player, the player loses a point.
2) In order to win a player must have more points then the other player to win. A player gains points by having successful actions with the prize. If a player goes all the way by having sex with the prize, then that player automatically wins. A player can lose points by only hitting on or been hit on by the penalty fouler.
1)"Dude Im gonna get with her and your not, so let the Hungr Games begin!"
2)"lets play the hungr games tonight, the prize will be Jasmine and the penalty fouler can be Katherine."
3) "Aye bro, I'm a little hungry. So let the hunger Games begin"

Another one Martin Luther King Jr. would have loved, people perishing together as fools.

The Hunger Games

A three-part book series where twenty-four children are trapped in a hostile arena-like outdoor setting for the entertainment of fancy rich people in a place called the Capitol. Oh, and, while in that arena you are supposed to kill in the most brutal of ways and the last murderer standing wins.(: Ages ranging from twelve to eighteen, they are drawn by lottery to come to the Capitol - to be paraded around and pampered - then are sent to the place where twenty-three kids will die, and one will win for that year.

I don't know what's more disturbing about these books. #1.) The fact the author wrote about children killing children. #2.) They are all pampered and adored and then are shipped away to be slaughtered by one another. #3.) This is for the YA (young adult) reading range. #4.) How popular they are and how they glamorize murder.
Hunger Games Fan: I am soooo smart b/c i LOVE the Hunger Games!!!!!11

Normal Person: How could you love a book so much that basically promotes murder and involves kids killing other kids?

Hunger Games Fan: whtevr!!! You just don't understand theyre AMAZING!!!!!!!! so amazing they're for young ppl like me;p

Katniss Everdeen on Katniss Everdeen's Winning the Hunger Games TWICE: I shouldn't be alive, I shouldn't be alive. But, shit, am I glad I am!

Katniss on Being a Mockingjay and a Girl on Fire: It's hard at times. But, you know, as the symbol of only a book-long's rebellion - I gotta be strong and look tough, even though I barely did squat in the arena.

Peeta Mellark on Katniss Everdeen: I love her. I once had a crush on her, but now I'm sure I love her. What some bread? No? A cake it is, then.

Gale Hawthorne on Katniss Everdeen: She's f*cking awesome! She's going to kick some Tribute ASS! *after Games* I'm so disappointed!
