Back in the 1930's white men would go by all black hang outs.(all black resterauntes, movie theatures, ect) and beep his car horn at the black ladies as a way to get them to comes to their car. so they became honkeys. it is used a racial slur against white people but (white people) dont really care about that term or take it offensive.

term originally given to white men who would drive to the black red light districts in New York and did not have the balls to get out of thier car to get a hooker, so they would honk thier horns at the hookers, hence they are considered honkeys.
