Pekko

A rare, typically male Finnish first name. The name has been theorized to originate from the pagan god of the field, Pekko or pellonpecko: pelto = field. (Source: Psalttari by Mikael Agricola, 1551 AD). Pekko was thought to be the god of barley as well as guardian of malts and beer.
