Ein deutsches Sprichwort aus dem Osten, was sich darauf bezieht, dass Maulwürfe blind sind und somit nicht aus dem Fenster gucken können, vor allem weil sie unter der Erde leben, der einen Ausdruck der Überraschung und Kontrollabgabe darstellt.
