Fob stands for Fresh Off the Boat and is a slang term that is used to refer to a south pacific islanders such as the Polynesians, Micronesians and Melanesians. (It is not offensive)

Person 1: Hey look its a group of fobs

Person 2: Oh yeah, aren't they called islanders?
Person 1: Yeah but you can also call them fobs, its just a slang term to call a group of islanders
