The name Green Day is based on smoking pot. The members of Green Day used to smoke pot but have stopped because of their families. Some of their hits include: Longview, Basket Case, Warning, American Idiot, Wake Me Up When September Ends, 21 Guns, and Good Riddance (Time of Your Life). Green Day has been around for MANY years even though many people didn't know it.
