now it can apply for males as well but typically refers to a beautiful woman that basically so perfect and enticing all men fall in love and willing to do anything for her. Unfortunately for the mermaid, they are unable to love or feel the emotional towards their suitors so they are forever alone and continue look for love. The suitors always experience unfortunate events surrounding the appearance of the mermaid in their lives, sometimes the mermaid ruins emotionally the suitors for life. Very much like the mermaids singing sailors to their water deaths.

Lady Marmalade

The female version of a "jamboy." 'Jamboy's' were young coloured boys who were smeared with jam to attract all the bugs and insects away from the rich golfers. If they were successful, they got to keep the pot jam! The term "Lady Marmalade" applies to women.

The plantation owner had a lot of jamboys and lady marmalades on hand for his golf tournament.
