Get the Pixel Shoppingmug. ‘the dead pixel’ refers to the lasting affect being sexually assaulted has on one’s life and mind. the term derives from the game ‘mouthwashing’ when the character Anya speaks about always noticing a dead pixel in the corner of a certain screen. she mentions that the one pixel is always in the back of her mind and ruins the whole illusion of the immersive screen. this pixel is a metaphor for her being assaulted by a coworker and living in constant paranoia, with the thought she is as wrong and filthy as her assaulter implies she is.
