Get the Green daymug. A kickass rock NOT PUNK band.
In truth, punk is just conformity, just like the preppy pricks. Punk is just a bunch of hardcore kids who get together and pretend they are better than eachother.
Therefore Green Day IS NOT PUNK. They are more pop and rock than punk.
They are a great band, with great lyrics, to relate to suburban teenage boredom, the problems of the suburban kids, the plights of corporate rebel f*ck ups. While some people say it is pathetic to write songs for so called poor little rich people, those people are pricks that think money is everything, and that rich people are automatically perfect and happy, perpetuating their own hate for themselves, seeking out an enemy (AKA the rich).
All in all, Green Day is a great rock band.

It's funny how every time Green Day comes out with a great album, all these pricks who want to sound hardcore diss the new album to sound badass and say, "I only like the old album, look at how hardcore I am!" They are the true conformists.
PS American Idiot = their best album in my opinion, and it definitely doesn't suck.

Get the green daymug. A Band that originated in the soils of Rodeo and Berkely California. The three Members are Billi Joe Amrstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool. They hate authority, and formed a band perversely called Sweet Children. When they started their first EP, they decided to name themselves after a song on it, Called Green Day (A song about smoking Marijjuana.) They worked very hard, selling 1.4 million copies of their debut Album, Dookie, one of their best. They went on to sell Kerplunk, Insomniac, Warning, and many more. Their newest album is certainly not their best, seeing as it has drawn attention from many fans that know nothing about the band except for that they sing "Boulevard of Broken dreams." It's actually kind of disgusting.

2) An amazingly awesome punk-rock band that started in the mid-80's. With Billie Joe Armstrong (Guitarist; lead vocals), Mike Pritchard, AKA Mike Dirnt (Bassist; back-up vocals) Tre Cool (Percussion), and back-ups Jason Freese and John White. They have 9 studio albums: 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours, Kerplunk!, Dookie, Insomniac, Nimrod, Warning, Shenanigans, American Idiot, and 21st Century Breakdown. Plus other contemplation albums and CD/DVD's.
a.Many new wave teen lovers are posers.
b.Many people have also thought that they have sold-out, and won't listen to the new stuff.
c. People who think that they only have 2 albums.
BTW: I am a 13 year old girl, who heard of them from my brother who only thought they had American Idiot. I went and listened to Kerplunk! from a friend, and absolutely fell in love with them! Warning, which will complete my collection, is coming in the mail this week!
