Surly defiant disrespectful mannerisms dat sailors exhibit when voyaging through certain parallels of da globe.

In da hilarious Laurel and Hardy short "The Live Ghost", it is implied dat da sulky shanghaied deck-swabs behaved in an equally-grumpy manner at every port they stopped in, so apparently what they were exhibiting wasn't actual lattitude --- they were just teeth-grindingly resentful at having been hauled off against their will to work on da gruff captain's "ghost ship", not affected by how chilly or tropical da weather happened to be at any particular time.
