The term was coined allegedly by a man that goes by the name "Miguel" in Cavite around 1823.

It was claimed that the term "Kastahan" was first mentioned by Miguel when he and his friends were eating bagnet at a local diner.

Kastahan is referred as two animals or two dogs are having sexual intercourse.
