When someone says they know a shortcut but it actually ends up being a longer route. Unnecessary and silly.
Anand: "Wait, I know a shortcut...take this left here...quick turn right again! Oh you were too slow, now we have to wait"
Cab driver: "What? You wanted me to take a left to miss to miss that traffic light and go through another traffic light?? What a silly man, what a stupid Sainsbury's manoeuvre!"

The Harper Manoeuvre first pioneered by Chris O'Dowd is a staple of IT troubleshooting.
Execution of the method has evolved greatly over the years with famous IT technician Mr A Harper bringing the method to new realms and coining the phrase "The Harper Manoeuvre".
The Harper Manoeuvre can fix all IT issues by simply switching off the offending equipment and then turning it back on.
60% of the time it works all the time.

When you have the high ground in a tactical battle or in fact anything and you completely screw yourself by either self destruction or sacrificing your advantage.
Most frequently used in the star wars miniatures game x wing in which the definition came from. The player sets his ship dial to the course that they believe gains them a tactical edge. However due to their miscalculation the ship ends up flying off the board and fleeing.

the Denvir- DEEN VIR (name: to completely ruin your advantage or to bugger yourself) manoeuver (a movement or series of moves requiring skill and care)
"i cant believe you flew your ship straight off the playing field that is known as The Denvir Manoeuvre!"
"lol you just pulled a Denvir!"
"You had the most powerful ship in the match and in your first turn you did a Denvir!"
"careful now you may want to check your dial for TDM"

A logistical impossibility to mere mortals, the mythical Gan's Manoeuvre is the seamless execution of a Donkey Punch / Angry Dragon combination. A successful outcome to this highly specialised reflex action is typified by a stunned and disoriented subject who has had insufficient time to register what had just taken place. The Dirty Sanchez may be applied to complete the sequence although this is considered an optional extra only.
WARNING : Gan's Manoeuvre is not to be confused with the similarly named but entirely different medical procedure known as the Heimlich Manoeuvre. Considered by many as a Level 7 action, Gan's Manoeuvre is to be attempted by experienced practitioners only.

It was a wild and windy night and in the heat of the passion, the planets aligned themselves perfectly against the back drop of a blue moon to allow the legendary Gan's Manoeuvre to unfold ...

The dermbo manoeuvre is a multi-player strategy made popular by Call Of Duty 4 professional online gamers. It is when playing the map crash a player climbs on to the helicopter and jumps over the fence opposite, thus flanking the enemy. It is particularly effective while playing Search and Destroy. Little is known on how the manoeuvre came about, but it is believed a player with the gamertag dermbo used this in an online game, obliterating his opponents.
