Later on in the season on the episode "Dye! Dye! Dye! My Darling" Tom gets bored with Jane and attracted to Daria. Daria steps into his car towards the end of the episode and they wind up kissing. Daria tells Jane eventually, and Jane feels like she cant forgive Daria. They talk about it later on and resolve their problems. Daria winds up getting bored of Tom as well and dumps him. Daria and Jane still remain best friends despite their ups and downs.
