Exaggeratedly and harmfully (typically in a more self-destructive context) masculine (especially based off outdated or stereotypical ideas of masculinity), typically to hide, repress, or put down feminine or neutral traits out of a perceived notion by the andristrophic person that, if they don't conform to this harmful type of masculinity, they won't be a "man." Essentially the phrase "toxic masculinity" consolidated into one word.
A man who behaves in an andristrophic way is known as an andristrope (plural andistropes.) Something done in an overly masculine way, especially something that's traditionally neutral, is said to be done andristrophically.
