When a fan fiction effects someone so much that they can not look at the real life/fictional characters the same way for a few days

the Eredivisie effect

The Eredivisie effect is caused by a football/soccer player leaving an easy league after playing extremely well to join a better league, and in the process somehow losing his ability. This can sometimes be reversed by going back to an easier league, but if the person affected is young, it is much harder.

Person 1: What happened to Jozy Altidore? He used to be so amazing.
Person 2: It's the Eredivisie effect, he joined a harder league

The Pipeline Effect

When 2 or more females (or males, but typically females) team up and form a group that feeds off of received gossip and they will either spread that intel to whoever will listen or twist and turn it into something that’s more exciting and dramatic so that it will spread quicker and faster knowing that the end result will give them such sensual gratification.

Never ever put a group of females together for an extended period of time or else you, your friends and family will be affected by what is known as The Pipeline Effect
