active voice

This is a grammar term that pseudo-intellectuals claim needs to be adhered to in all circumstances. Yet, there are a multitude of circumstances in which the passive voice would be clearer to the listen/reader and would make more sense to use.

active voice: Jon stabbed Alan.

passive voice: Alan was stabbed by Jon.

croaky voice

If a person or their voice is croaky, their voice sounds rough because they have a sore or dry throat:

He has lost his sonorous voice and sounds a bit like a croaky Dalek.

voice bombed

When a bystander intentionally yells a profanity that is picked up and inserted in your text message while you are doing a voice to txt on your phone.

Example: Kareem voice bombed me by yelling "fart" while I was using Siri to text Suzy.
