A stick of candy dat you bribe someone with in order to keep him from being "convinced otherwise" by one or more fellow humans who might try to get him to change his presently-in-agreement-with-you viewpoint.
Anti-sway bars can indeed sometimes be an effective way to keep someone "on your team", but it can also prevent said person from honestly pondering a particular topic or issue and then forming his own unbiased opinion about said subject, similar to how main-stream religion often does.

An expression used to describe all of the pointless fighting and bickering that tends to happen in the government over various policy issues, the effectiveness and credibility of political leaders, how important and or valid certain beliefs and values are, etc. While it does occur in all levels of the government, it happens most frequently on the state and federal levels. These conflicts often times cause significant delays in passing important pieces of legislation They are often to forward and or their party’s agenda and or as way to get acquire more power and influence when discussing a particular issue.
There are always political bar fights happening in the U.S. government these days; often over relatively pointless things.
