Studying one or two subjects in school more than others because of personal preference or just not caring about them.

I’m not studying Latin right now, it’s a sort of Academic Triage.

A large amount of academic assignments assigned to a student at the same general time (about three weeks at most) (i.e. essays, tests, lab reports, quizzes, projects)

Person #1: I have two lab reports, 3 tests, 3 projects, 1 essay, and 2 quizzes this week!

Person #2: Boy, that's some academic wave!

When students are overwhelmed by their school work and feel as if they are downing in assignments that are due soon.

My roommate is academically drowning, she has three papers due in two days!
My professor for philosophy assigned summaries for five 20-page readings this Tuesday that are due today. I feel like I am academically drowning.
