Crazy Technology

Crazy technology means common shortcuts or very basic skills (simple technology) that blows someone’s mind. It can also be applied to broader scenarios like anything you find amazing but quite common to others.

Origin: When we were doing a group assignment at uni, a team member tried to fit a table in a page but it didn’t work because that table had too many columns. Then the team show him how to switch that page to landscape. Then he said “Oh that’s crazy technology!”

Example1: Context: An excel guru colleague showed me how to auto resize all both width and height of excel spreadsheet. He selected all first and then clicked any boundary in the selected area. Then the whole spreadsheet was auto-resized. Before I learned about this, I manually resized spreadsheet by clicking each boundary. So this is “Crazy Technology”.

batcrap crazy

A person who is batcrap crazy is certifiably nuts. The phrase has origins in the old fashioned term "bats in the belfry." Old churches had a structure at the top called a belfry, which housed the bells. Bats are extremely sensitive to sound and would never inhabit a belfry of an active church where the bell was rung frequently. Occasionally, when a church was abandoned and many years passed without the bell being rung, bats would eventually come and inhabit the belfry. So, when somebody said that an individual had "bats in the belfry" it meant that there was "nothing going on upstairs" (as in that person's brain). To be BATcrap CRAZY is to take this even a step further. A person who is batcrap crazy is so nuts that not only is their belfry full of bats, but so many bats have been there for so long that the belfry is coated in batcrap. Hence, the craziest of crazy people are BATCRAP CRAZY. ( thank/thanks kbli)

stir-bat crazy

A portmanteau, crazy word describing a middle state between stir crazy (distraught from confinement) and bat-sh*t crazy (complete state of insanity). This is most commonly used past the hours of midnight. The term was coined in the 2020 pandemic.
This is the superior term over any of the aforementioned expressions.

It is gremlin hours and I am going stir-bat crazy.

I'm so stir-bat crazy that I'm not making any sense.
I'm going stir-bat crazy after all this zoom work!
