The most successful band of all time. Formed in the late 1950's in Liverpool, England and rising to popularity in 1962 in the UK and 1964 in the USA they are, arguably, the most influential band ever. The band comprised of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Most of their songs were self-penned by Lennon and McCartney with George Harrison contributing as a solo songwriter to a lesser extent. During their heyday The Beatles fans produced scenes of hysteria all over the world which the press defined as 'Beatlemania'. They broke up in 1970 and each went on to have a successful solo career. John Lennon was shot and killed in New York in December 1980 and George Harrison died of brain cancer in November 2001. McCartney, Harrison and Starr reformed briefly in 1995 to record some tracks using demo tapes that John Lennon produced in the late 70's for their retrospective Anthology series. The Beatles songs include Yesterday, Hey Jude, I Want to Hold Your Hand, She Loves You and Something among others.

one of the most overrated bands in history. i dont hate them, and they influenced music, but they "didnt change music forever." their music is mediocre, and the only reason why they were the shit of the 60s is because they were considered to be the revival of rock and roll, just like how people consider nirvana to be the revival of rock music in the late 80s and early 90s, after it was taken over by pop and r&b and hip hop. and, ringo starr is a crapass drummer. btw, critics dont know any shit about music. the only reason why they say the beatles are so great is so tools can listen to them. AND STOP HATING ON PEOPLE WHO DONT LIKE THEM, BECAUSE EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT, AND THEY DONT HAVE TO LIKE THE BEATLES, THEYRE JUST EXPRESSING THEIR PERSONALITY!!!!!. im not saying you cant like the beatles, just stop discriminating people who dont like the beatles.

One of the, if not THE most amazing band ever to exist. At least in my opinion. Not everyone is going to like them, but you can't deny that they had talent (and they were really very cute :) Their music means something to alot of people, even if they were "omgzz lolllzzz stoned" Many artists still today use drugs as a way to open their minds. Everyone has a right to their opinion, but don't you dare ever judge such a band, just because you've heard the chorus to yellow submarine. Maybe you should go like I did, and since I never heard them, try out a few songs before you judge. If I was like what most of you people seem to be "omg they're sooo overrated, GO LINKIN PARRRK!" I would've missed out on something great.

the most kick ass band in the world i am 12 and no one my age knows about them but me in my school.their biggest hit were hey jude, yesterday, help, dear prudence. there best albums where, revolver, magical mystery tour. abby road, the white album, hey jude, rubber soul, and many many more.
