Catfish Days

CFD. The official festival of Wilmington, IL. Usually the last weekend in July. While there's stuff for kids during the day (e.g. carnivals, parade) the epic stuff happens at night when the streets are closed and the bars are flooded with hundreds of partygoers. At Catfish Days, not only are you encouraged to blackout, but you are given a free pass to make a fool out of yourself for 3 straight nights.

Stranger: Hey, what's with all the music and drunk people in the streets?
Jimmy Hunt: It's Catfish Days you dumb idiot. Go Wildcats!!
Stranger: O wow I've heard about this! Get me a beer ASAP!
Jimmy Hunt: Catfish Daaaaaayz!

Sambuca day

A drinking holiday term for Christopher Columbus Day. Sambuca, an Italian liquor is the drink of choice.

It's similar in concept to calling thanksgiving "turkey day".

It's Christopher Columbus Day, I'm going hammer, mixing 151 with the 'buca, cause it's sambuca day ya bish.

I get turned up on skrillex and flaming shots for sambuca day, the best part of Columbus discovering America.

Day Jam

when a high school kid's parents are gone for the day but will return at night, he will have a day jam. It is a party during the day. Usually people will smoke pot or drink.
