Opposition Paradox

"(The) Opposition Paradox" is a term credited to the philosopher C.M. Nutter for describing when people are unwilling to try new things that others recommend without a logical reason other than to simply provide opposition to the idea of trying something new.

Donna recommended her and Steve go to Chinese food for dinner. Steve opposed the idea even though he never tried Chinese food.
