relationship george

The personality changes shown by a man when talking or dealing with his significant other, usually characterized by change in voice inflection and tone, as well as being more well behaved in general. This is typically only shown when the man is involved in a serious, committed relationship, but some men (usually fake, sweet talking men...aka "players") always become relationship george when talking to any woman they are trying to score with. The name george is to be interchanged with the man's actual name. This term comes from the popular TV show Seinfeld and is personified when George's fiance, Susan, begins to hang out with Elaine as a friend.

friend: "Who were you on the phone with?"

man in the relationship: "Oh that was Lisa. I just had to let her know my plans for tomorrow. We are suppossed to go out to dinner."

friend: "Yeah I could tell you were relationship Tom so I knew it was a woman."

George on Seinfeld - "You don't understand. There's relationship George, and then there's the George you know. Baudy George, Funny George."

Gateway Relationship

In gay culture: a relationship in which one partner is the other partner's first real homosexual partner, usually defined by one experienced partner and one non-experienced partner. The experienced partner usually helps the other person become okay with being homosexual and comfortable in homosexual relationships. This relationship almost always fails.

Matt: I don't know why you're with Bary.
Loyd: Because I like him.
Matt: Yeah, but it's totally a gateway relationship.
Loyd: I know, I'm setting myself up for heartbreak.

When two people from two different couples reserve eachother and flirt with eachother in anticipation of their current relationships ending. When their relationships end, they will instantly date the person in the reserved relationship.

Ivy - I'm dating John, but i've totally reserved Peter.
Peter - Yeah we're in a reserved relationship

A committed relationship is an interpersonal relationship based upon a mutually agreed-upon commitment to one another involving love, trust, honesty, openness, or some other agreed-upon behavior

The act of being in a relationship with someone and being monogamous.

Terms related to committed relationship include:
monogamy: having a single long-term sexual partner
sexual fidelity: not having other sexual partners other than one's committed partner, even temporarily

Ginger: 'Wow! Kandy you are in a committed relationship with Jax.'

Kandy: 'Yea, Jax actually stuck around and stayed with me even thru everythig.He is a real man.’
