Self mutilation

A form of hurting. Done to one's self by one's self. Now, I'm not sure about this, there could have been a time when this actually resulted out of depression, but in this day and age, it's becoming trendy, and popular. Everyone refers to themselves as "broken" now. Everyone thinks they have such problems. These people are called WEAK. Now sure, there are definitely people out there who have it pretty damn bad. But now, anything that makes anyone unhappy...they decide "Boo hoo, I'm gonna cut" WTF? Since when did "attempted suicide" become trendy?

"My parents hate me because they said I can't go to the Good Charlotte/Taking Back Sunday concert, so I'm gonna go cut myself so they feel guilty....>:)...I mean boo hoo"

Quite easily the stupidest thing you could do when you're depressed or angry. Also, it allows emo kids and 12 year old Marilyn Manson fans to prove to themselves and friends that they are hardcore.

1) Look at me, I cut myself, I'm such a manic depressive.

2) Marilyn Manson would be proud! Hail Satan!!!

Tattooes and piercings.................

That was the oringal definition of self mutilation.
Scarification is a form of self mutilation.
Making yourself look ugly with tattooes and piercings is self mutilation.It could also be considered a form of vandalism or even mutilating others who have to look at you.
It's eye vandalism.

Hurting yourself in any way at all. Remarkably similar to eating disorders and substance abuse. Can be a cry for attention, a type of self-punishment or just a way of letting out frustration and depression. No matter what the form or reason, this is a disease and a serious, widespread problem. It is also extremely addictive and leads to downwards spirals of reclusive behavior, guilt and high-risk living.

Self-mutilation can be cutting, head-slamming, wrist banging, scratching, picking, burning, bruising- anything painful.

self-mutilation

Self-mutilation is when someone hurts themselves to release some form of pain. Usually cutting, pulling hair, burning, banging etc. Making fun of them is not going to help. Just because you have different ways of coping doesn't mean you should make fun of people that already have problems hating themselves etc. Self-mutilators need help they don't need people picking on them.

Self-mutilation is dangerous. If someone you know is self-mutilating get some kind of help.

self mutilation (or known as self-injury) is a concept on which many teens have picked up on. whether it be a form of releasing pain, or getting attention. it is scarring many teens in the process.
it is almost any form of the desruction in one's own tissue.

cutting, wrist banging, burning, head banging (against walls), pulling out hair, breaking bones, scratching, amputation or anything of that severity

The only pain in which someone can control, bull, it is a way of self-pity, you feel sorry for yourself so you cut yourself.

Guy 1: What's on your arm?

Guy 2: Happy scars!

Guy 1: Are you cuting yourself again?

Guy 2: Yeah!

Guy 1: But why? your not having hard times or anything, your life is perfect.

Guy 2: I just want to fit in and someone told me if I cut myself I'd be cool.

Guy 1: OMG, stop, I have trouble in my life, that's why i cut myself.

Guy 2: OMG, you need to stop.

Guy 1: AHHHH!
