A racial epithet made popular by a man named George Jefferson in the 1970's, you see mr jefferson was moving on up to the east side; to a de-luxe apartment in the sky... he finally got a piece of the pie. Convoluted story ill admit but the point is this... one day all black people will be free.
"Reach for the skies honkey!"
"Honkey?"

Often mistaken as a negative term for white people, (such as nigger for blacks) but it is not. When the white man came to get a slave in the old days, he would drive up in his truck and signal the slave owner by honking his horn, thus the slaves would call them 'honkey'.
White people are not offended by this term.

A term that is used to racially offend caucasian people. The origin came from the fact the the "honking" sound is the last thing the nigger hears before the white person runs them over with their vehicle.

A slang term, used in place of "white man." Derives from the last thing a black or hispanic person hears before a white person runs them over. Instead of stopping, they just honk. Hence, they are a honkey.

n. a term that originated in Harlem, NY circa 1920's. White men would sometimes pass by a black woman and honk their horns at them. They would also park by the brothels and honk for a woman to come out. This led to black people referring to these white men as "honkies". Nowadays, most people don't know the original meaning of the word and use it as an insult against any European-American (white person).

a term used for white people because when driving at night white people cannot see black people and therefore "honk" to prevent hitting them.

A slang word, meaning a white person. Back in the 1930's white men would go by all black hang outs.(all black resterauntes, movie theatures, ect) and beep his car horn at the black ladies as a way to get them to comes to their car. so they became honkeys. it is used a racial slur against white people but (white people) dont really care about that term or take it offensive.
non-white: yo honkeys.
whites: do these people think that this word bothers us. We could care less. why do black people got to make it a racial thing. slavary happened mostly in the south anyway a long time ago. us modern day white people did not have nothing to do with it.
