Description of Sweden. Often used as a direct suffix to Sweden, since many americans think that Sweden and Switzerland are the same country.

Pull a Switzerland

When somebody doesn't want to get involved in some sort of confrontation, like an argument, debate, fight etc. This is especially true when somebody asks you who you think is right in a particular conflict. Happens the most between feuding friends.

Bob to Frank: "You are so wrong!"
Frank to Bob: "Nah, man. You're wrong and you know it. Even (You) knows it! Right?"
You: "Uh... I'm gunna pull a Switzerland on this one."

History books document the first reference to the Swiss cross around 1339. At that time, the citizens of Bern tended to sew two strips of white cloth in the shape of a cross on their clothes before resolutely marching off to battle. It was only in 1815 that politicians officially recognised the white cross on a red background in the Constitution as the Swiss national emblem, which to this day remains a symbol of neutrality and independence.

Switzerland

Pricey Watches, Dirty Money, Good Weed, Cheap Discount Beer, and Expensive Fun are among the things to be found in Switzerland: a small, central European nation known for its wealth, the secrecy of its banks, mountains, and the extensive military defense lines. Every house has a bomb shelter and a military issue rifle as they have a draft. The pedestrian will note that streets tend to be dead by 10 and walking around you are confronted by walls and hedges. Everywhere.

"Hey man, if the world was going to fall apart where would you want to be?"

"Switzerland, without a doubt. I'd use the bank vaults to horde artifacts and books that we could use to rebuild the planet, and then sell it to people when the time is right."
