According to the population theory, the country with the larger population should have more players to chose from, and therefore be better than a team with a smaller population. By this theory the United States should crush Central and South American countries as well as small European countries. This theory has been proven widely false as the U.S. consistently gets their ass handed to them by countries that can't be spotted on a map without a magnifying glass.
