A person who says they are going to do something of harm or damage, but either does nothing or avoids conflict due to fear of harm or consequences to themselves. Also used as an adjective phrase known as "punked-out".
Jodie said she was going to fight Clair after school, but she never showed. She is a punk because she is scared of losing the fight.

Similar to that of drunk texting, to send a punk text is to make an ass of yourself via text message without being able to use the excuse that you were intoxicated while doing so.
