Vibe Coding

Describes a type of practice where someone utilizes AI assistant tools and premade script templates to write code. Usually they do not understand the code or know how to read it, but use a guess and check method to attempt to achieve their desired results. Older internet denizens might have called this type of person a 'script kiddie'. While there are many people who enjoy this as a hobby and professionally, it is often used for nefarious means and can be risky.

My cousin has spent the past week doing nothing but vibe coding trying to write an app to make him rich day trading on the Canadian stock market but all he has done so far is accidently give a social media hacker access to his porn and credit cards folder

When a programmer codes purely based on intuition, mood, or spontaneous inspiration rather than following strict plans or detailed requirements. Often involves listening to good music, being in the zone, and creating elegant or experimental code just because it feels right.

A term inspired by Ben Ripley's film "The Source Code." This term is used to describe something very mind-blowing and life-changing that can change a person's way of thinking forever. Also used to describe something that makes a person's mind "click" and allows them to understand so much more than they did before.
