Social Media

A: Why do pp nowadays have so polarized, negative opinions?
B: Well, well, you know what social media is, don't you?

Social Media Researcher (SMR)

SMR (Social Media Researcher)

Often mistaken for a stalker, but with better intentions and Wi-Fi.

A highly skilled individual trained in the art of digital observation. SMRs don't stalk - they gather data. From tracking down your ex's new fling to locating someone's high school graduation pics from 2020, SMRs use advanced techniques like clicking, scrolling, and zooming in on blurry group photos.

They're not creepy - they're curious.

They're not obsessive - they're efficient.

They don't follow people... okay, maybe they do. But only for research.
Example:

"Wait, how do you know his mom's maiden name?"

"I'm not a stalker, I'm an Social Media Researcher (SMR). Do your homework."

Social Media Patronizing

Social Media Patronizing: When you see someone in person and they say “I love your content” but they never actually comment on or “like” your posts or other content (depending on how the platform works) because they feel they’re better than, and don’t want the actual association.

That is social media patronizing.
Social Media Patronizing: Hey Mike, haven’t seen you in a while… omg, I LOVE following you on LinkedIn (but you know this person has NEVER engaged with you, not even a “like”).

This is a very condescending response from the person you haven’t seen in a while and claims they love to follow your content.

Social media

Theres not really anything social about social media, if anything, social media encourages people to be distant from each other and in their own little world/bubble.
Social media provides the illusion of being part of a large network, meanwhile some people are getting rich via this platform. There was a time before social media where people actually knew each other in real life and had actual life experience with the other person, rather than the virtual image of someone on a computer screen.

Social Media Refugee

Those people who no longer are allowed on major Social Media platforms, despite never breaking the Community Standards. Attempting to create their own platforms results in the shadowy players getting ISP'S and Server Hosts to deny them service, thus leaving them essentially voiceless in today's society. My friends, I regret to inform you I am now one of the Social Media Refugees.
