Old Man Murray Test

The Old Man Murray test is a somewhat tongue in cheek way of judging how good a video game is. The test is to time how long it takes to spot a wooden crate anywhere in the game. The idea being, the less effort a studio puts into a game’s graphics and area design, the more likely they are to use wooden crates as decorations just to fill up space. Named after its creator, a hilariously sarcastic video game critic who lived in Austin during the 90s named Old Man Murray.

When a man claims an idea, work, or other contributions of women.

When Jeff repeated the same idea that Lisa had just five minutes earlier in the staff meeting, without any acknowledgment of her contribution, Sam politely pointed out that Jeff was man-claiming.

performative man

A performative man is a man who seeks to distance himself from the rest of his gender by acting in ways that are traditionally feminine, e.g drinking matcha, reading, painting their nails and being a #feminist. Common behaviours of these types of men are saying (in reference to another man's behaviour) "that's so bad, i would never do that, " claiming to be emotionally intelligent or 'one of the girls' and being bisexual.

"Is that a labubu keychain on your jorts? Are you going to a performative man competition?"
