Green Day 

Green day started in 1988 as a punk band, playing music in the underground punk movement in America. Signed to a major record label and sold millions of albums, which a clean, pop-punk sound which inspired many. Nimrod and Dookie are examles of Green Day's punk music.

HOWEVER

With the release of American Idiot in 2004, Green Day have gone away from their roots and their old music. On stage, they now have to have another guitarist who ISN'T ACTUALLY IN THE BAND!!

They're not a 3-piece band anymore, nor are they punk. Boulevard of Broken Dreams is pop with guitars, just like the rasmus.

I have seen Green Day live, yes I had a great time, but yes, they have sold out. Bring on the return to punk!

Green Day used to be punk. Now they aint.

While they had semi-quality songs back in the day, this pop and "punk" band has released many boring and/or crappy songs recently (this gives people the right to call them sellouts). Many of their songs consist of 3 chords played over and over again and thats pretty damn annoying. While I still have a lot of respect for their ability to play and make a fortune off of this, they tried to make a different sound and that doesn't work for me.

Green Day.......nothin to say. Not great, but don't suck.

Said to be the greatest band on the planet.
q recently called them 'three kings' and the biggest band in the world' and most people and magazines agree. Playing in mk bowl this summer with two other fucking brilliant bands -- (taking back sunday) and (simple plan) who both fucking rock (especially simple plan)
Their old songs are their best ones, especially those from their album 'dookie'
