A 1960's colloquial expression, possibly of Canadian or Northeastern American origin, used to convey surprise, shock, or mild annoyance.
Possibly derived from the Latin name for the Christian God, Jehovah.

Hover boy

A person—typically a man—who loiters in close physical proximity to a conversation or activity they are not part of, usually in hopes of seeing or hearing something private, sensitive, or provocative. They may even come within personal space to gain or view personal information.
Ryan Reynold’s was showing me some photos of him at the beach and Hugh Jackman immediately became a hover boy.
