to be put in permanent exile as trump did to Mike Pence when he refused to cave to trumps pressure to go along with the wacko plan drawn up by Eastman to use his powers as the president of the senate to throw out Mike and Trumps own opponent's certified elelectoral slates in what would amount to a staggering conflict of interest and a constitutional crisis if it could be successful

Trump will wait till the last hour to run so that DeSantis will already have expended much energy and resources to the point that it will be humiliating for DeSantis to back out. Trump actually wants DeSantis to not back out so he can "Pence" him.
