"Fancy-pants" way of saying "keep da plug in da jug".

If da King had followed his own "Keep the caps on the Schnapps" advice during his temperance-revival meetings instead of periodically "puttin' in his time with a private jug, on the sly", he might not have been pursued by all of da angry townspeople whom he'd duped and swindled.
