The Hood

"The Hood" otherwise known as a normal neighborhood, is for black people who can't find a job due to their race and think their taxes are too high. It is called "The hood" because black people or African Americans can't and won't take time out of their day to say neighborhood so they call it the "hood".

Tyrone lives in the hood with his ebony grandmother.
Demarcus belongs to his local gang in his hood.

The hood

The hood is a place where lots of bad shit happens, like where gangs have more power than the police. African Americans always try to get out of the hood but usually fail. The only ways to get out of the hood are by sports like basketball and football or by Rapping. In the hood, there is lots of gangbanging and murders and stuff.

Person 1: I'm tryna make it outta the hood
Person 2: Nah the only way is by rapping or by sports and you shit at both

Hoods

A term used by people primarily from Northern Florida to describe a nigger. The term came about because the men in the black community back in the day used to wear shirts with their collars popped (much like the fags that do today with their Abercrombie shirts).

"We were waiting to go into dinner and we were were outside waiting for the fam and these kids had prom tonight and this one guy had his collar popped. my dad says to me "he needs to fix it" and i was like dad u dont know bout the popped collars. He says, "it was what the Hoods use to wear" and i said the Hoods? and he says "Yeah, the niggers."
