I had to read this book for some prick in English class. I did not read most of the book, but still took a test and wrote a report on that book and answered questions about each chapter. Oh, this guy hates me so much, he says I never turned in the book and wants me to pay $20 for it.
"Two legs good, four legs bad. So kill those animals!"
I think that is how it went, but I would not know since I did not read the book.

Alex Trebek: "Cats 101" followed by "Whale Wars" on this Discovery cable channel. Aria?
Aria: What is Discovery Kids?
Alex Trebek: No. Charlotte?
Charlotte: (smiles) What is The Animal Channel?
Alex Trebek: No. Correct response - What is Animal Planet, not The Animal Channel.
Charlotte: (smiles)

1. A massive quality spike in animation that is well-received amongst the majority.
2. When good animation is called bad because it's good and not terrible or a still frame slideshow.
Both definitions are typically used by the vocal minority, people with bad eyesight, boomers, haters, or contrarians on imageboards.

Guy 1: Did you see episode 19 of Demon Slayer?
Guy 2: Yeah, it sucked. So much forced animation everywhere.
Guy 1: Are you saying it looked bad? The animation was great.
Guy 2: Exactly.

An anime-like show found on Cartoon Network or Boomerang that, though the art style resembles that of anime, cannot be qualified as such due to its non-Japanese origins. However, these shows have the capability of introducing the viewer to the anime art style and general fandom, hence the name "Gateway."
Pokemon and shows of the same type usually found on Cartoon Network also qualify as Gateway Anime, since they have been Americanized to the point of ridiculousness.
In short, Gateway Anime is anything even remotely anime-like that pops up on Cartoon Network, usually early in the morning or late at night.

Two examples of Gateway Animes are:
-The Powerpuff Girls (who can technically be classified as chibis)
-The 2003-2006 version of Teen Titans
