It is simply the same friendship one has with another male.

Contrary to popular belief it is possible for a male and a female to have this type of relationship without one (or both) party(ies) wanting sex or any form of romantic involvement.
Those who believe otherwise either: are idiots in general, exhibit a significant degree of misogyny or misandry, are not very good at making or all 3

May also be referred to as:
g-friend, friend, budess, palette, chick friend.
Females commonly use girlfriend to refer to their female friends.

A person who is always there for you. Similar to a best friend but more, someone you hope will be in your life forever, she will be in your wedding and you two know eachother like sisters would.
Not developed with time, a person you meet and just know they are your sister friend.

I miss my sister friend, but physical distance can't keep us apart.

friends with bonuses

Similar to friends with benefits but more infrequent; maybe only several times a year. Benefits, like with your job, are something that you can always rely on. With bonuses, it's generally a surprise and maybe only one or two times per year, typically around the holidays.

We're not friends with benefits, we only make out around the holidays. We're more like friends with bonuses.
